The coffee grinder is one of the fundamental tools that makes up the coffee station but those who carry out the work are the burrs inside.

The burrs of professional grinders have different characteristics and can vary in shape, size and material.

A solid cup of coffee always starts with a reliable burr set.

Why choose Food Friendly® coffee burrs?

  • Reliability: they do not undergo deformations thanks to the special heat treatment to which they are subjected. They settle at the first grind and there is no longer a need to grind so much coffee during installation
  • Durability: they are made of special steel and then subjected to particular machining and heat treatments that guarantee a 70% longer life compared to a standard burr made of cemented and tempered 18NiCrMo5 steel

You will certainly have noticed in standard burrs a layer with anomalous oxidation, which tends to detach very easily, causing inevitable contamination of the ground coffee. This happens due to the presence, in the millstones, of surface layers with a lower level of hardness than the underlying material which therefore causes a lower resistance to repeated stress. On the contrary, however, the martensitic microstructure of the FOOD FRIENDLY® burrs makes them less subject to wear and contamination, and therefore more resistant during the manufacturing processes.

The line includes flat and conical burrs for coffee grinders of numerous brands, such as Mazzer, Brasilia, Cimbali, Faema and Compak.
